The Late Train
Four coworkers were traveling to a training meeting in another city. They planned to take the 8:15 train, but the line at the ticket machine was moving slowly. James looked at the clock and said, “We’re cutting it close.” Mina said, “If we miss this train, the whole morning could get thrown off.” Omar checked the schedule on his phone while Kelly looked for another ticket machine.
When they finally reached the front, the train announcement came over the speaker. Kelly said, “We still have time if we move quickly.” They bought the tickets and hurried to the platform just as the doors opened. James sat down and said, “That was too close for comfort.” Mina looked at the others because she understood the message behind his words.
