The Resource That Became Limited

A project required access to a shared resource that was used across multiple teams. At the start, availability had been sufficient to support all scheduled activities, and usage followed an established pattern. Over time, demand for the resource increased, placing additional pressure on access.

Requests for usage began to overlap, leading to scheduling conflicts. Some teams adjusted their timelines to accommodate availability, while others continued to submit requests based on original plans. Coordination became more complex as priorities differed across groups.

During planning discussions, the limitation was acknowledged, though no immediate adjustment to allocation was confirmed. Temporary arrangements were made in certain cases, allowing some activities to proceed while others were delayed.

As the situation continued, variations in access became more noticeable. Some teams were able to maintain progress, while others experienced interruptions. Communication regarding availability continued, though it did not fully resolve the competing demands.

The resource remained in use under the existing structure.
