The Responsibility That Was Unclear
A project required coordination across several roles, each contributing to different stages of the overall process. Responsibilities were assigned broadly, with general expectations outlined at the start of the project.
As work progressed, variations in task completion began to appear. Some activities were carried out more than once, while others were not completed within the expected timeframe. Team members began seeking clarification from one another, though responses were not always consistent.
During a project review, differing interpretations of responsibility became more visible. Individuals described their understanding of assigned tasks, revealing overlap in some areas and gaps in others.
The discussion continued as each perspective was presented. The project timeline remained in place, and work proceeded alongside the ongoing clarification of roles.
No single interpretation was confirmed as the standard approach.
