Nora worked at her desk.
She opened her notebook.
She started her math work.
She used a yellow pencil.
The pencil worked well at first.

After ten minutes, the pencil broke.
Nora looked at the broken pencil.
She checked her bag.
She needed another pencil.
She asked her brother for help.

Her brother walked to his desk.
He opened a small drawer.
He found a pencil inside.
He handed the pencil to Nora.
Nora thanked him for the pencil.

Nora finished her math work.
She closed her notebook.
She cleaned her desk.
The broken pencil stopped her for a minute.
But the broken pencil did not stop her work.
