Word of the Day: STILL

Your goal: Use still to explain that something continues.

REVIEW

STILL means something is continuing or has not changed.

“I’m still working” means you started earlier and have not finished.

Use still in phrases such as still waiting, still learning, still busy, and still here.

CHOOSE TWO AND RESPOND

Read each question aloud. Choose two responses that make sense together. Use still in at least one. Say them together as your answer. Then try a different combination.

“Have you finished your work?”

  • I’m still working.

  • I have one page left.

  • I’m still checking it.

  • I want to make sure it’s correct.

  • I still need a few minutes.

  • I’ll tell you when I’m done.

  • Let’s go a little later.

  • I still have some work to do.

  • I need ten more minutes.

  • I’m still getting ready.

  • I’ll meet you outside.
