Renting a Car
Intro Recording:
“You and your friend are renting a car. Your friend does not speak proper English, so you will help translate, correct their English, and speak politely to the rental agent.”
After each recording, the student responds naturally.
AGENT: “Hello! Do you have a reservation with us today?”

AGENT: “We have compact, midsize, and SUV options available. Which do you prefer?”
→ Student responds and translates.
FRIEND: “I want big car… but cheap. You ask possible?”
→ Student corrects English + asks professionally.
AGENT: “I can give you a free upgrade today to a midsize if you’d like.”
→ Student responds.
AGENT: “Are you returning the car to the same location?”
→ Student responds.
FRIEND: “We drive far. Mileage cost or no?”
→ Student corrects English + asks.
AGENT: “This rental includes unlimited mileage.”
→ Student responds.
AGENT: “Do you want to add another driver to the contract?”
→ Student responds.
FRIEND: “I drive too. You tell him I want drive.”
→ Student corrects English + communicates.
AGENT: “Here are your keys. Your vehicle is parked in space B12.”
→ Student responds.
AGENT: “Please check the car for any damage before leaving.”
→ Student responds and translates.
AGENT: “When you come back, just park in the return lane.”
