The Situation
You are called into a meeting at the start of the workday. You were told it concerns a situation from the job site yesterday.
From the initial explanation, you learn that a safety concern was reported after hours. Someone noticed tools left out and a work area not properly secured. No incident occurred, but management wants answers.
A site supervisor is present. Someone from safety is taking notes. Your manager is listening closely. You were on site that day, but you don’t yet know which task or time frame is being questioned. You are expected to respond immediately. Pausing too long may suggest uncertainty or avoidance.
Your Task
Respond clearly and professionally.
You do not have all the details, but you are still required to respond.
Speculation or blame-shifting may work against you.
