When a Process Starts to Fall Behind
A process that had once been reliable has started to fall behind as conditions around it began to change. Initially, performance remained steady, even as minor delays appeared. Teams were able to catch up by increasing effort and adjusting timelines where needed.
As delays continued to build up, those adjustments became less effective. Some stages of the process began to slow down more than others, creating gaps between different parts of the operation. Efforts to make up for lost time included extending work periods and shifting responsibilities, though these changes did not fully bring things back on track.
Over time, the process continued to run, but with noticeable differences in timing and output. Some areas were able to keep up, while others struggled to match the pace as delays continued to add up.
