Assigned Task

The task was assigned with clear instructions, and the team began to carry it out without hesitation. Each member understood their role and started working based on the timeline that had been set. Early progress showed that everything was moving along as expected, and there was no immediate reason to question the approach.

As the work continued, however, a few details began to cause confusion. Some team members interpreted certain steps differently, which led to small differences in how the work was completed. Instead of calling out the issue directly, the team tried to work around it by adjusting their own tasks. At first, this seemed manageable, but it slowly created inconsistency.

By the end of the task, the differences became more noticeable. The team had to step back and review what had been done. This helped them understand where things had gone off track. The experience showed that even when instructions seem clear, it is important to confirm understanding early on.

QUESTIONS

  1. What does “work around” suggest about how the team handled the issue?

  2. Why did differences in interpretation lead to inconsistency?

  3. What caused the team to “step back” at the end of the task?
