The Late Start

Olivia woke up when her alarm rang, but she pressed the button and went back to sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, the room felt too quiet.

She looked at the clock and quickly sat up.

“I’m late,” she said.

She rushed to get ready and moved quickly through everything.

She skipped breakfast and grabbed her bag.

When she got outside, she saw the bus already driving away.

Olivia stopped and felt upset with herself.

“I should have gotten up the first time,” she said.

The next morning, when her alarm rang, she sat up right away.

She got ready slowly and had time to eat breakfast.

This time, she made it to the bus on time and felt much better.
