Maya went to the store with her father to buy a few things.
When they got to the checkout, the line was very long.
Maya sighed and said, “This is going to take forever.”
Her father smiled and said, “Let’s be patient.”
Maya watched the people in front of them.
One person had many items, and another was talking slowly with the cashier.
Maya crossed her arms and started to feel annoyed.
Then she noticed a woman behind them holding only one item.
The woman looked tired.
Maya turned and said, “You can go in front of us.”
The woman smiled and thanked her.
By the time they reached the cashier, Maya felt calmer.
On the way out, her father said, “Being patient makes things easier.”
