The Last-Minute Change
Eric looked at the document and frowned. “They changed the plan again,” he said. Maya turned her chair toward him. “What do you mean?” she asked. Eric pointed at the screen. “They want a new version by today.” Maya blinked. “Today? We just finished the last one.”
Eric leaned back. “I know. This keeps happening.” Maya crossed her arms. “Did they explain why?” Eric shook his head. “No, just a short message.” Maya sighed. “So now we have to redo everything?” Eric looked at the clock. “We don’t have much time.”
Maya stared at the screen for a moment. “We can try to adjust it instead of starting over.” Eric nodded slowly. “Maybe.” He paused. “But we don’t know what they really want changed.” Maya looked at him. “Then we might guess wrong again.”
