
Types of Conjunctions

Coordinating Conjunction - Connects words, phrases, or clauses of equal importance (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).
I wanted coffee, but I chose tea.
She is smart and hardworking.
We can go now, or we can wait.
Subordinating Conjunction - Connects a dependent clause to an independent clause (because, although, since, unless, while, after).
I stayed home because it was raining.
We left early although we were tired.
He finished his work after the meeting.
Correlative Conjunction - Pairs of words that work together to connect parts of a sentence (either...or, neither...nor, both...and, not only...but also).
Either you start now or you miss the bus.
Both the teacher and the students were excited.
Not only did he win, but also he set a record.
